The choreography is ugly. There are no pirouettes here. There is only the sound of flesh hitting hardwood, heavy breathing, and the occasional crack of a tendon.

Short films must establish a premise and deliver a message quickly. Vernon achieves this by placing the ultimate selfless act (saving a dying team) directly against the ultimate selfish act (abandoning them for personal pleasure). To understand the film’s appeal, one must first navigate its fractured narrative.
